Hot Weather Concreting

With Ambient Temperatures reaching almost 50° C across the region it is necessary to control the temperature of concrete to maintain specification compliance.

The Company employs the latest German Technology to produce both Chilled Water and Ice through onsite production facilities that feed directly into the Concrete batching plant.

Aggregate storage areas are shaded and the materials pre-cooled using water mist spray systems.

The use of 100% chilled water at 5°C together with the addition of shaved ice and plasticizing retarders enable the production of concrete in hot weather conditions maintaining a temperature typically below 26°C.
